PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector where an ultrasonic wave supply device is disposed in a light transmissive member, and which can reduce irregular illuminance caused by speckle noise and can restrain the lowering of efficiency of using light. SOLUTION: The projector 1000 includes: an illuminator 100 having an LD light source 10, a solid integrator rod 30 and the ultrasonic wave supply device 40 disposed in tight-contact with the integrator rod 30 through ultrasonic good transmitting substance 50 and supplying an ultrasonic wave whose frequency is temporally changed to the integrator rod 30; a micromirror type optical modulator 400 modulating the light from the illuminator 100 in accordance with image information; and a projection optical system 600 projecting the light modulated by the micromirror type optical modulator 400. A reflection film 60 is formed on a boundary between the ultrasonic wave good transmitting substance 50 and the ultrasonic wave supply device 40. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
