摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-speed wavelength sweeping light source which can be used for a light source for OCT requiring tens of kHz as a sweep frequency by generating optical pulses made of light of a predetermined wavelength range and revolving the optical pulses by a fiber loop, while making a part of them exit sequentially as output light. SOLUTION: This light source comprises a wavelength-variable light source 10 which generates the optical pulses made of light with the predetermined wavelength range wavelength-swept in a predetermined sweep period, at the same period as the predetermined sweep period; the fiber loop 14 with a predetermined loop length; and an optical coupler 13, which is provided to part of the fiber loop 14 which demultiplexes the optical pulses outgoing from the wavelength variable light source 10 into two portions, with one of the portions being made exit to an output end 16, while the other into the fiber loop 14, and which demultiplexes the other optical pulses revolved inside the fiber loop 14 returned into two portions, with one of the portions being further made to revolve, while the other is exited into the output end 16.
