PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the number of the hold storage of start winnings at an appropriate number matched with the setting of the base of a game machine. SOLUTION: A microcomputer 560 for game control selects a kind of the variation time of a special pattern (decorative pattern) according to a table on the basis of the number of start winning storage and the number of gate passing storage, and also selects a kind of the variation time of a normal pattern according to the table on the basis of the start winning storage and the number of the gate passing storage. At the time, when the number of the start winning storage and the number of the gate passing storage are small, the long special pattern variation time is selected and the short normal pattern variation time is selected. When the number of the start winning storage and the number of the gate passing storage are large, the short special pattern variation time is selected and the long normal pattern variation time is selected.
