PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device that achieves higher image quality while controlling power consumption due to frame inversion and row inversion at low level. SOLUTION: In the display device, a signal generating circuit changes the voltage of each storage signal with regard to respective pixels until predetermined time passes immediately after the application of the data voltage to the same pixel is finished. When the data voltage has a positive polarity, the voltage of the storage signal changes from a low level to a high level. When the data voltage has a negative polarity, the voltage of the storage signal changes from the high level to the low level. When the gate driver scans the gate line in both directions, the signal generating circuit changes the voltage of the storage signal in the order that depends on the scanning direction of the gate driver. The signal generating circuit changes the voltage of the storage signal to each pixel depending on the gate signal to the same pixel, or depending on another gate signal that rises after one horizontal period or about two horizontal periods has passed from the rise of the gate signal.
