PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means by which the rotational position of an insertion section relative to an operation section around an insertion axis is confirmed by touching. SOLUTION: The endoscope keeps the outer circumference of a snap stopper, covering the base end side of the insertion section connected to the operation section, composed of the arch of a first radius and the arch of a second radius, wherein a ramp generated between their outer circumferential surfaces rotates together with the rotation of the insertion section around the insertion axis. According to the endoscope, when the insertion section is rotated against a rigid body such as the operation section, the snap stopper can be grasped to teach the position of the insertion section around the axis in relation to the operation section.
