The device has a support provided at a housing. Clamping points are provided at a free end of the support. Pressing and counter pressing surfaces at sides of a textile web are arranged in the housing and/or the support. The surfaces are connected upstream and downstream to a cutting wire. The surfaces are pressed against upper and lower sides and/or edges of a support web and/or edges of a cut strip. A cutting knife is fixed between the clamping points.
