HANDOVER METHOD AND BASE STATION

It is possible to provide means for surely performing judgment of Last Packet transfer and appropriately executing a mobile source base station resource release and a handover post-processing of a mobile destination base station in a handover process of a mobile communication system in which a mobile station performs communication by a packet without increasing a packet transfer delay. For this, the base station has a Last Packet judgment timer and a mobile source base station or a mobile destination base station starts the timer by reception of a handover completion response from an upper-node station or a resource release instruction after a handover completion response. When the timer counting is expired, it is judged that the Last Packet is received.
