A receiving section of a receiving device receives extended broadcast-program information. The user selects a broadcast-program which the user wants to record by selection operation using an operation input section. An extended recording-programming management section allows an instruction receiving section to transmit an extended recording-programming instruction depending on the extended broadcast-program identification of the selected broadcast-program. A receiving section of a recording device receives broadcast-program data, mapping information and broadcast-program information. An instruction receiving section receives an extended recording-programming instruction transmitted from the receiving device. An extended recording-programming execution section acquires the extended broadcast-program identification from the received extended recording-programming instruction, acquires the broadcast-program identification corresponding to the extended broadcast-program identification according to the mapping information, and stores the broadcast-program recording-program depending on the broadcast-program identification. A broadcast-program recording/reproducing section records and/or reproduces the broadcast-program data according to the stored broadcast-program recording-program. An extended recording-programming instruction is so constituted as not to be recognized as a recording-programming instruction by a recording/reproducing device not conforming to the extended broadcast-program information.
