A method for outputting synthesized voice of a mobile GPS receiver using a microprocessor are provided to reduce a manufacturing cost by processing voice signals using a program without using a voice IC(Integrated Circuit). A method for outputting a synthesized voice of a mobile GPS(Global Positioning System) receiver using a microprocessor includes an antenna(100) for receiving GPS signals from satellites, a GPS reception module(101), a low pass filter(105), an audio amplifier(106), a speaker(107), a memory(103) for storing data, and a micro processor(102) for controlling a whole system. PCM(Pulse Code Modulation) data as voice source data is converted into ADPCM(Adaptive Differential Pulse Code Modulation) data and then the converted data is compressed. The compressed data is stored in the micro processor or memory. The stored ADPCM data is recovered to PCM data and then the recovered data is outputted as PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) data. By applying the PWM data to the low pass filter, the voice is generated. |
