The invention relates to a service switching device (1) having a housing (8), comprising a front face (3), an attachment face and a narrow face (6) b etween them, and having a connecting terminal (10) which is held in a termin al accommodation area, located in the vicinity of the narrow face (6), in th e housing (8), which connecting terminal (10) comprises a terminal screw (24 ), which is accessible from the front face (3), and has an operating end (26 ) and a terminal end (30) opposite this, also comprising a terminal body (12 ) having at least one terminal area (20) in which a busbar and/or a connecti ng conductor can be pressed against the busbar (36) by means of the terminal screw (24), with the terminal body (12) being accessible through a first ho using opening (91) in the wall of the narrow face (6), and in which case the at least one terminal area (20) can be covered by a terminal cover part (60 ), which is coupled to the terminal end (30) of the terminal screw (24), can be driven in the movement direction (50) of the terminal screw (24), and is of such a size that it covers the terminal area, such that it cannot be tou ched directly, even when the terminal screw (24) is screwed onto the busbar (36). The terminal cover part (60) is riveted to the terminal screw (24) suc h that it can rotate.
