<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a re-encoding apparatus that will not deteriorate reproduction in image quality in reencoding, as much as possible. <P>SOLUTION: A moving image reencoding apparatus comprises a decoding means which decodes first encoded data to generate a decoded image; a predictive type discrimination means for discriminating whether the first encoded data were encoded by either one predictive type of I picture, P picture or B picture; a skip candidate selecting means for selecting a candidate to be skipped, without having to encode the decoded image into second encoded data; and a skip target specifying means for preferentially defining a decoded image of B picture that is temporally close to the decoded image of the candidate as a skip target, when the candidate to be skipped is the decoded image of an I picture or a P picture. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
