PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compensate for lost areas in images quickly without using an advanced mathematical equation. SOLUTION: A stamp St is positioned in contact with an upper left end of an area K to be corrected from above ((a)). Gray values of all the pixels set in the position are stored. The stamp St is moved down by one pixel ((b)). Similarities are calculated between the initial position and post-shift positions of the stamp St shifted left ((c)), right ((d)), down, down right and down left by one pixel. The stamp St is positioned in the post-shift position corresponding to the highest similarity that is higher than a threshold TH (for example, position (d)), and the stored gray values are set. If the highest similarity is not higher than the threshold TH, the stamp St is moved to the right from the preceding initial position by the size of the stamp St ((e)). The position of the stamp St is thus moved to the right. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
