PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form data capable of displaying an image free from a feeling of incompatibility, irrespective of the increase in the number of colors included in one pixel. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal projector 1 includes a color conversion part 13 to which video data constituted of a plurality of first pixel data separately including basic three color values of red, green and blue are input, which separately processes the plurality of first pixel data constituting the input video data, and then, converts the first pixel data to second pixel data including the basic three color values and a fourth color value. The color conversion part 13 includes a control part 20 for controlling the increase/decrease of the fourth color value included in the second pixel data corresponding to the first pixel data based on the basic three color values included in the first pixel data.
