PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reproducible antigen detection method. SOLUTION: The antigen detection method is provided with a step for making a complex generated for circulating a carrier liquid, containing an antigen twice or more, and introducing it to a reaction part in which a recognized substance which specifically reacts with the antigen is held in an nonflowable state and bringing the antigen and the recognizing substance into reaction, to generate a complex of the recognizing substance and the antigen. The antigen detection method is, preferably, further provided with a labeled substance reaction step for bringing the recognized substance with a labeled substance and the complex of the recognized substance and the antigen into reaction in the reaction part, by circulating a carrier liquid containing the recognized substance with the labeled substance, instead of the carrier liquid containing the antigen twice or more in the reaction part, after the complex-generating step.
