APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DETECTING CELL ID IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

An apparatus and a method for detecting a cell ID(Identification) in a mobile communication system are provided to improve a detection performance by arranging codes having an orthogonal relation in one group and minimizing an influence from each other. An apparatus for detecting a cell ID(Identification) in a mobile communication system includes an FFT(Fast Fourier Transform)(602), a reference signal selector(604), an inverse scrambler, and an energy detection unit(616). The FFT transforms a demodulated input signal to a signal of a frequency axis. The reference signal selector selects a reference signal from the signal which is transformed to the frequency axis. The inverse scrambler performs and outputs an inverse scrambling for all scrambling codes included in one group. The energy detection unit calculates an inverse scrambled energy, and detects a cell ID in case of a maximum energy value.
