COMPUTERIZED BIOMETRIC PASSENGER IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM AND METHOD

A system and method for passenger identity verification. The system has a t least one check in system with a barcode reader and a biometric data colle ction device. When a passenger checks in, a barcode is placed on the passeng er's boarding documents, the barcode is read, and biometric data is collecte d from the passenger. The system stores the data in a database of a server s uch that the barcode data is associated with the biometric data. The system further contains at least one checkpoint verification system with a bar code reader and a biometric data collection device. When the passenger arrives a t the verification system, the barcode is read and biometric data is collect ed from the passenger. Biometric data is retrieved from the database using t he bar code read by the verification system and the biometric data retrieved from the server is compared with the data collected by the verification sys tem.
