<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform adjustment of the focus balance and tilt of an optical pickup without vainly consuming IDTZ (Inner Disk Test Zone) in an optical disk device. <P>SOLUTION: The optical disk device includes the optical pickup, a laser driving section, a focus/tilt controller for adjusting the focus balance and tilt of the optical pickup and a controller for controlling each section. The controller includes an IDCZ (Inner Disk Count Zone) adjusting means which performs adjustment by the data when the data is not recorded in a user data region, the data of a constant modulation value of an RF signal is recorded in the IDCZ and the data of a prescribed length or more is recorded, and an IDTZ adjusting means which writes the data in IDTZ and performs adjustment by the data when such data does not exist in the IDCZ. The adjustment of the focus balance and tilt can be performed without vainly consuming the IDTZ by using the data of the IDCZ even if the data is not recorded in the user data region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
