<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress degradation of recording film property to raise reproduction durability of a disk or reliability of recording information by properly setting reproduction laser power to a Low to High type optical disk. <P>SOLUTION: An initial value of the reproduction laser power Pwr is set by multiplying optimal reproducing power Pwr0 acquired from a system lead-in area by an adjustment factor α (S103). Then an optical pickup 105 is sent to a data lead-in area, the data lead-in area is read by the reproduction laser power Pwr set in S103, and PRSNR is measured from a reproduction signal acquired at this time (S104). The measured PRSNR is compared with a threshold Psh (S105), and if it is PRSNR≥Psh (S105:YES), the reproduction laser power Pwr (initial value) in S103 is set as the reproduction laser power during the reproduction operation concerned (S106). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
