PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for satisfactorily holding a reading precision of a scanner unit by accurately positioning an ADF unit with respect to a reading line of the scanner unit without being affected by the component precision of a convex part or a concave part. SOLUTION: This image reading device 1 is characterized in that an ADF unit 5 in which an automatic original conveyance mechanism is housed is arranged so as to be openable and closeable through a hinge 4 on a device body 3 in which an image reading means is housed, and one of a convex part 20 and a concave part 13 fit into each other for preventing the position deviation of the ADF unit 5 to a horizontal direction is formed on the upper face of the device body 3, and the other is formed on the bottom face of the ADF unit 5, and at least one of the convex part 20 and the concave part 13 is configured as a member different from the device body 3 or the ADF unit 5, and the assembling position of the device body 3 or the ADF unit 5 is adjustable.
