PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle periphery display device and a method for presenting visual information for improving authenticating performance about information showing the existence of an approaching vehicle and information showing its traveling direction. SOLUTION: The device includes: a visual information acquisition part 1 for acquiring visual information to be displayed to a driver; a data storage part 2 for storing visual information acquired by the visual information acquisition part 1; a visual information control part 3 for image-controlling the visual information stored in the data storage part 2; a visual information display part 4 for displaying the image-controlled visual information. When the current visual information acquired by the visual information acquisition part 1 is displayed to the driver, at least a portional region of at least one video frame of the visual information acquired in the past stored in the data storage part 2 is overlapped with the current visual information, and the overlapped visual information is displayed.
