PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustion apparatus of high efficiency capable of burning firewood and solid fuel originating from plant and having the shape and a dimension unchargeable from a pellet charging hole, as it cannot be performed in a conventional pellet stove, and preventing the solid fuel from falling into a groove outside a combustion pot. SOLUTION: This combustion apparatus has a combustion chamber 1 provided with the combustion pot 5 inside of a bottom portion, and has a forcible air supply/discharge structure for lowering atmospheric pressure in the combustion chamber 1 for forcibly sucking the outside air into the combustion chamber 1 by forcibly discharging a combustion gas generated in burning the fuel in the combustion chamber 1, to the external, an upper end outer periphery of the combustion pot 5 mounted on the bottom portion in the combustion chamber 1 is disposed in the combustion chamber 1 in a state of being internally kept into contact therewith or having a small interval, and the combustion pot 1 is the hopper type combustion pot having a peripheral wall partially or fully inclined.
