PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate type heat exchanger capable of improving pressure resisting performance in distribution passages. SOLUTION: The plate type heat exchanger 1 comprises an upper shell 2 and a lower shell 3 superposed in hollow structure, and an inner fin 4 mounted therein to be joined to the upper shell 2 and lower shell 3 respectively and formed with the distribution passages 9 cut out from openings 8 formed at both longitudinal ends of the inner fin 4 to distribute a heat exchange medium R in a band width direction. Reinforcing bodies 10 are provided in the cutout-formed distribution passages 9 of the inner fin 4, and the reinforcing bodies 10 are joined to the inner surfaces of the upper shell 2 and lower shell 3. The pressure resisting performance of the distribution passages 9 is thereby improved, and the increase of plate thickness of the upper shell 2 and lower shell 3 can be minimized. Since the reinforcing bodies 10 are shaped to allow the heat exchange medium R to flow along the distribution passages 9, distributing performance in the band width direction by the distribution passages 9 is maintained.
