PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for regenerating casting sand with which the used casting sand can be regenerated to the casting sand having sufficient caking power in a shorter time than the conventional method. SOLUTION: Firstly, the used casting sand obtained when a sand mold after pouring molten metal is disassembled, is separated into an inferior sand and non-inferior sand and separately recovered. Successively, to the separated and recovered inferior sand, water, binder and a part of the separated and recovered non-inferior sand are added and kneaded and the inferior sand is regenerated. At last, the regenerated inferior sand and the remaining of the separated and recovered non-inferior sand are mixed and the characteristic of this mixed sand is adjusted. In such way, almost the whole quantity of the used casting sand is regenerated into the reusable state. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
