PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL

A plasma display panel is provided to enhance light room contrast and to increase luminance by forming a blackening part in a non-discharge region. A first substrate(10) and a second substrate are arranged opposite to each other. A barrier rib(16) is arranged between the first and second substrates in order to define discharge cells. An address electrode is extended in a first direction. A first dielectric layer(40) is formed to cover the address electrode. A first and second electrodes are extended in a second direction crossing the first direction and are formed on one of the first and second substrates corresponding to the discharge cells. A second dielectric layer is formed to cover the first and second electrodes. A protective layer(23) is formed to cover the dielectric layer. The second dielectric layer, the protective layer, and the first substrate are colored with respective colors. The barrier rib and the first dielectric layer are composed of transparent materials.
