An apparatus and a method for attenuating an electromagnetic wave are provided to remove surge causing the electromagnetic wave with a filter circuit without covering an integrated circuit with a shield case. An apparatus for attenuating an electromagnetic wave emitted from an electronic circuit unit(100) includes a pattern and a filter unit. The pattern has a first pattern indicating a transmission section of an electronic signal(110) emitted from the electronic circuit unit and a second pattern diverged from one point of the first pattern and joined at the other point of the first pattern. The filter unit is installed on the second pattern and shifts a phase of surge by 180 degrees after extracting the surge included in the electronic signal.
