<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metallic catalyst carrier whose catalytic performance can be kept over a long period of time by preventing a slit hole from being plugged by the soot accumulated in the opened edge part of the metallic catalyst carrier, which is opposed to the inflow side of exhaust gas. <P>SOLUTION: The metallic catalyst carrier is obtained by superposing a corrugated metal sheet 11 and a flat metal sheet 12 alternately and multiply on each other to form many cell passages, through each of which exhaust gas passes, between the corrugated metal sheet 11 and the flat metal sheet 12, forming a plurality of slit holes 13, 14 respectively on the corrugated metal sheet 11 and the flat metal sheet 12, and depositing a catalyst component on the surfaces of both of the corrugated metal sheet 11 and the flat metal sheet 12. Each of slot holes 13, 14 in the opened edge part of the metallic catalyst carrier, which is opposed to the inflow side of exhaust gas, is formed into an almost rice ball-like shape being an almost V shape with respect to the flow of exhaust gas. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
