HIGHLY FUNCTIONAL CERAMIC BODY AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly functional ceramic body having a surface on which a high function is given while keeping the original property of the surface of a base material and a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The highly functional ceramic body includes a base material comprising a ceramic and a function giving material existing on the surface of the base material, wherein micropores are present on the surface of the base material and the function giving material is present in the micropores. The method of manufacturing the highly functional ceramic is carried out by projecting or rubbing the function giving material to the base material or sticking a liquid material of the function giving material and removing the liquid material from a part excluding the micropores to arrange the function giving material in the micropores.
