The method involves utilizing storage drums (1) rotating synchronously with grippers. A sheet is transferred from one of the storage drums to the adjacent storage drum at a sheet edge in a transfer area, when the grippers of the drums delivering the sheet are opened and the grippers of the drums carrying the sheet are closed. A position of the grippers of the drums is provided in the transfer area depending on the peripheral speed of the drums. An independent claim is also included for a device for executing a method for conveying a sheet.
