The light grid (1) has a transmission unit (2) and a receiving unit (3) that exhibits an alignment opto-receiver (8). The opto-receiver responds to alignment light, when the opto-receiver is aligned within an angle of a reflected beam (7a) to an alignment opto-transmitter (7). The opto transmitter is aligned within a viewing angle to the opto-receiver. The opto transmitter and the opto receiver remain unconsidered of control of the light grid during operation. An independent claim is also included for a method for the adjustment of a light grid.
