<p>It is possible to provide a small-size variable tuning antenna which can be tuned in a wide range. The variable tuning antenna is formed by a radiation element (1) in which a resonance point and an anti-resonance point alternately appear and having a basic resonance frequency higher than a predetermined frequency; a first inductive element (11) connected in series to a radiation element (1) and increasing the reactance component of the radiation element (1) so as to displace the basic resonance frequency of the radiation element (1) to a frequency lower than the predetermined frequency; and a variable capacity element (14) connected in series to the first inductive element (11) and having a capacitance changing in accordance with an applied voltage so as to reduce a combined reactance of the radiation element (1) and the first inductive element (11) and fluctuate the basic resonance frequency of the radiation element (1) in a range including the predetermined frequency.</p>
