A method and network communication system for redirecting the network communication port include that the reception end sends the redirecting address to the transmission end through the communication port after the reception end determines the need for redirecting the communication port, the redirecting address includes the information about redirecting transmission layer address, and also includes the information about the network layer address of the reception end capable of being arrived by the communication port corresponding to the information about redirecting transmission layer address, wherein the network layer address of the reception end includes the network layer address of the original reception end, the network layer address of the new reception end ruling the transmission end, or the network layer address of the reception end based on the new protocol. According to the present invention, it is capable of being automatically switched the port by the transmission end so as to have the node continue the previous service through the unknown port when the gatekeeper can not receive a portion of signaling sent from the node through the unknown port; and it is capable of supporting the node for switching the protocol automatically.
