The air extractor unit (11) has height and width dimensions specially chosen so that it can be secured entirely between the top side of the bowl (70) and the underside of the toilet seat (71). The maximum height of the module is 15 (6-10) mm. The air extractor unit is a free-standing one connected to an air conduit which is linked in turn to a ventilation channel provided with an air treatment unit.
