Indigestible oligosaccharides having a molecular weight of 450 Da to 3700 Da are used for the improvement of insulin resistance, the prevention of po st -prandial glycaemic dip, and/or the decrease of the post -prandial glucos e response of a meal, which is consumed within 72 hours after the consumptio n of the first product. The oligo-saccharides are especially galacto -oligos accharides, and are advantageously administered a few hours prior to having the meal.
