ALUMINUM-BASED COMPOSITE MATERIAL MADE SCREW AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum-based composite material made screw easily and inexpensively manufacturable with high productivity by plastic deformation processing at room temperature, and its manufacturing method.

SOLUTION: The aluminum-based composite material made screw 10 has a structure wherein a screw thread part 14 comprised of a composite material comprised by dispersing reinforcement particles in an aluminum-based metal of the same type as a shaft center part 12 is formed continuously with the shaft center part 12 on an outer side of the shaft center part 12 mainly composed of the aluminum-based metal. The screw 10 is manufactured by producing an aluminum-based molten body dispersed with the reinforcement particles 44 in a mold 22, applying electromagnetic force to molten metal composing the aluminum-based molten body 42 such that the reinforcement particles 44 are moved to a rim part of the aluminum-based molten body 42, solidifying the aluminum-based molten body 42 to derive a solid rod comprised of composite material from the mold 22, and forming a screw thread by rolling.
