<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further smoothly inflate an air bag, and to inflate the air bag in a safer shape for an occupant. <P>SOLUTION: This air bag device inflates the air bag 20 in front of the occupant by passing through the inside of a rim part 12 of a steering wheel 10, by rupturing an upper surface of a pad 11 of the steering wheel 10 in an emergency, and has a tether 50 for regulating an inflating shape of the air bag 20. A gas deriving part 41 of a nozzle part 40 is positioned on the more occupant side than a plane P including an occupant side top surface of the rim part 12 of the steering wheel 10. The tether 50 exists in the nozzle part 40 at its one end when inflating the air bag, and is connected between an inflator 30 and the plane P including the occupant side top surface of the rim part 12 of the steering wheel 10. The other end of the tether is connected to the position vicinity 51 on an extension line of an upper surface 13 of the pad 11 in a plane opposed to an occupant of the air bag 20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
