PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the loss of latest data even when the backup processing abnormally ends. SOLUTION: This computer system comprises a first storage system having a data storage area for storing data sent from a host computer, a second storage system having at least one actual duplicate data storage area associated with the data storage area, an archive device having a storage medium associated with the duplicate data storage area of the second storage system, a data copy section for reading data from a data storage area of the first storage system and controlling copy processing of writing the read data into the first actual duplicate data storage area of the second storage system according to the predetermined constitution information, and a connection switching section for changing the predetermined constitution information so that a second actual duplicate data storage area instead of the first actual duplicate data storage area is associated with the data storage area.
