PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DC-DC converter wherein after an output switch element 1 is turned on, the potential difference between both the ends of the output switch element 1 is detected, and thus misdetections of potential difference can be prevented. SOLUTION: In the DC-DC converter, a voltage detection circuit 6 is connected in parallel with the output switch element 1. When a predetermined time has passed, after the output switching element has been turned on, the voltage detection circuit is actuated. The DC-DC converter is so designed that a detection switching element 7 constituting the voltage detection circuit is higher in the on-resistance than that of the output-switching element.
