PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expansion part forming method for fixing an elastic expansion member to a sheet without using adhesive agent in an absorptive article, and a facility for that. SOLUTION: In the expansion part forming method for an absorptive article, a continuous sheet 10 is provided including a plurality of elastic expansion members 2 arranged in parallel between an inner sheet and an outer sheet, and the inner sheet and the outer sheet are bonded intermittently in the feed direction for fixing the elastic expansion members 2. As tension is added to the elastic expansion members 2, the inner sheet and the outer sheet are intermittently welded around the elastic expansion members 2 in the width direction by ultrasonic waves, thereby the elastic expansion members 2 are fixed to the sheets.
