Die Erfindung betrifft eine Lösung insbesondere zur Vorbehandlung einer hydrophilen Oberfläche zur Hydrophobierung, ein Silan der Formel (1) mit 10 R₁, R₂, R₃ unabhängig voneinander gewählt aus der Gruppe Methyl, Ethyl, 2- Methoxyethyl, i-Propyl m = 0 oder, 1 n = 0 bis 12, p = 1 oder 2 und für p = 1 Y = einer funktionellen Gruppe gewählt aus der Gruppe Alkyl, Vinyl, Phenyl, Cyclobutyl, Cyclopentyl, Cyclohexyl, Glycidyl, Glycidyloxy, Isocyanato, Ureido, -CF₃, -(CF₂)_qCF₃ mit q = 1 bis 12, Cyanid, Halogenid, (Meth)acryl, (Meth)acryloxy, -NH-CH₂-CH₂-NR⁴R⁵, -NR4R5 (mit R⁴ und R⁵ unabhängig voneinander gewählt aus der Gruppe H, Alkyl, Phenyl, Benzyl, Cyclopentyl, Cyclohexyl) beziehungsweise für p = 2, Y = O, S, NH sowie eine Komponente enthaltend, die bewirkt, dass der pH-Bereich der einen hydrophilen Oberfläche um mindestens zwei Einheiten vom neutralen Bereich abweicht.
