A scan electrode driver for a plasma display apparatus is provided to stabilize images displayed in a plasma display panel by constantly maintaining the rising slope of ramp-up signals. A scan electrode driver for a plasma display apparatus includes set-up voltage sources(315,325), a ramp-up signal generator(311), and a blocking unit(313). The set-up voltage sources output set-up voltages. The ramp-up signal generator receives the set-up voltages, generates ramp-up signals, and supplies the generated ramp-up signals to a plasma display panel. The blocking unit which is connected between the set-up voltage sources and the ramp-up signal generator, blocks the flow of the current from the ramp-up signal generator to the set-up voltage sources.
