<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit deterioration of emission and to secure good dynamic characteristic of a vehicle even if temperature of a catalyst drops due to electrical travel. <P>SOLUTION: When an engine is started to transfer from a motor driven travel to a hybrid travel, a power limit value α is set (S140) based on catalyst temperature Tc and EV travel time Tev during which motor driven travel is continued, required engine power Pe* output from the engine with limiting output by the power limit value α (S190), and the engine and two motors are controlled (S200-S250) with the required engine power Pe*, when temperature Tc of a catalyst of an emission control device attached to an exhaust pipe of the engine is lower than a threshold Tcref1 at which function thereof cannot be sufficiently exerted (S120).
