<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly output a high quality image on the basis of color image data of high gradation resolution. <P>SOLUTION: When an image is output in colors, the gradation resolution of received color image data is converted into a lower resolution, and an image is then output. When a monochrome image is output, the received color image data is converted into monochrome image data, and a monochrome image is then output on the basis of obtained image data. The color image does not have a higher effect of improving image quality resulting from improving a gradation resolution than that of the monochrome image, while an adverse effect, such as an increase in processing time and an increase in the amount of memory usage resulting from improvement of the gradation resolution appears more in the color image than in the monochrome image. Accordingly, when the image is output in colors, by lowering the gradation resolution and then outputting an image, it becomes possible to quickly output a high quality image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
