PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pink composite material having excellent workability, and to provide a decorative article using the composite material at least in a part. SOLUTION: A composite material 2 comprises one or several first phases 21 containing platinum as the main component and one or several second phases 22 containing copper. For example, the second phases 22 are disposed in the first phase 21, or the first phases are disposed in the second phases. The composite material 2 preferably further contains a third phase 23 which is present between the first phase 21 and the second phase 22, so as to be in contact with the phases 21 and 22, and comprises an intermetallic compound made of Pt-Cu.
