PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-weight and compact box body for storing an ECU case and a standby connector therefore to ensure a required strength of the box body when the standby connector is mounted, while improving a reliability of the assembling of the ECU case and the standby connector. SOLUTION: In the box for mounting an electronic control unit, the box body 10 includes a storage space 14 for storing the ECU case 20 and a stand-by connector 30, an insertion opening 16 through which the ECU case 20 is inserted into the storage space, and an open surface 17 to which the standby connector 30 is mounted inside the storage space. The box has an engaging structure (a recess 40 and a protrusion 42) held under the condition in which the box body and the standby connector are aligned. The box is constructed by inserting the ECU case into the storage space through the insertion opening, and has a lock structure (lock projections 50 and 52, and a lock slot 54) held to prevent the standby connector from coming out of the open surface.
