PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device used, for example, for a radiator grille, a front spoiler garnish and a back door garnish of an automobile, presenting an appearance of releasing metallic luster in a bright place, and displaying to highlight a display body such as a character and a diagram as a whole by indirect illumination from the back face side in a dark place, in the display device for an automobile. SOLUTION: A metallic particulate is deposited or sputtered on a transparent synthetic resin front panel 1, and the display body 3 such as a character and a diagram formed of a synthetic resin film is transparently displayed on at least a back face. A display sheet 2 of forming the other part as an opaque part 3a or a semitransparent part is adhered, and the display body 3 displayed on the display sheet is displayed to be highlighted by indirectly illuminating the display sheet 2 from the back face by light emission from a light source 4.
