<p>The present invention relates to a board game, which is based on a team game and in particular, rugby. The game comprises a board for two or more players where the object is to transport a focal playing object to a predefined location in a playing area. The board is divided into a plurality of player positions. The apparatus further comprises a playing piece representative of the focal playing object for movement on the board in accordance with the rules wherein points are awarded to a player when a playing piece reaches a predefined location on the playing board. A means for generating a random number for use by each of the players to determine the number of players positions a respective player's counter and/or the playing pieces can move is also provided. The board is beneficially divided into a plurality of zones and each zone defines a plurality of player positions.</p>
