The tambour (1) has a bearing pin provided at ends of a casing (2), where the casing is provided with a fiber-reinforced material layer. Carbon fibers run under an inclination to a circumferential direction of the casing and are firmly connected with the casing. The material layer is made of carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP), and is attached on an inner surface of the casing. The material layer is embedded into a casing material, and is attached on the casing by adherence. The carbon fibers form a network with one another. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a swivelable supported tambour.
