PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microporous membrane made of polyolefin containing polyolefins other than polyethylene, which is excellent in an electrolyte impregnation property with high permittivity/high viscosity and is excellent in liquid filling properties in a battery production process, and further is also excellent in battery characteristics. SOLUTION: The microporous membrane made of polyolefin comprises 1-30 wt.% of polyolefin other than polyethylene and 99-70 wt.% of polyethylene and has a cross-sectional pore density of 7 pores/μm or more and an average pore size of 0.035-0.060 μm.
