PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of reducing a stand-by time until a normal image is projected even when operating auto-setup. SOLUTION: The projector 100 includes: an image generation part 130 for generating a composite image by combining a first image based on input image information and a second image showing a division line following at least two opposite sides of the image; a projection part 160 for projecting the composite image; an imaging part 170 for generating imaging information by taking the projected composite image; and an auto-focus processing part 150 for executing the auto-focus processing of the projection part 160 based on information relating to the division line included in the imaging information.
