PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic composition having excellent color-brightening effect and light resistance, and color-brightening the hair without damaging the hair even in case of being used in dyeing the hair. SOLUTION: The cosmetic composition contains a chromophore moiety consisting of an organic EL coloring matter as a fluorescent coloring matter, wherein the organic EL coloring matter comprises an azole derivative or imidazole derivative having a conjugated system and containing one or more heteroatoms, selenium atoms or boron atoms. As the above fluorescent coloring matter has high quantum yield in a solid state(including solid and semi-solid), this cosmetic composition has high fluorescence intensity even in a dry state, thus having excellent color-brightening effect and being high in light resistance as well.
